Earnings by Degree Level

How much can you expect to earn with a high school diploma? How about a Bachelor's Degree? What if you pursue a Master's Degree or a Doctorate? We've searched the statistics and have the facts.

Not surprisingly, expected earnings are higher with higher levels of educational attainment. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, full-time workers who are 25 or older earned the following median weekly pay in the first quarter of 2012:

  • $450 for workers without a high school diploma
  • $653 for workers with a high school diploma but no college education
  • $1,158 for workers with at least a Bachelor's Degree

This significant jump in earnings between those who have only a high school diploma and those who have at least a Bachelor's Degree provides a very compelling argument for going to college. Still on the fence about getting your degree? Read more reasons to attend college here.
